Hey everyone!
We know many of you have been eagerly waiting for news about new music from fun., and we’ve heard your questions and excitement. There’s been a lot of talk recently, and we wanted to connect with you directly to clear up a few things and share what’s happening with us. So, let’s get right to it.
First off, and most importantly, we want to address the question we’ve been seeing the most: fun. is not breaking up. It’s crucial for you to know that fun. remains our collective musical home.
fun. began as a project for the three of us when we were transitioning from our previous bands. What makes fun. truly special is that it’s a collaboration of three distinct musical individuals. We create fun. records when we’re genuinely inspired to make music together. Right now, Nate is pouring his energy into his debut solo album, Andrew is immersed in the world of film scoring, and Jack is touring and creating new music with Bleachers. We’ve always believed in following our creative inspiration, wherever it may lead. Sometimes, that inspiration guides us towards fun. songs, and other times it takes us on individual musical journeys. We see all of these endeavors as interconnected and vital to what makes fun. who we are.
Our fans mean the world to us – you are everything. Seriously. We deeply respect YOU, our incredible fan base, and that means we want to create music when we are absolutely ready and inspired. We would never want to give you anything less than our absolute best. “Some Nights” achieved incredible success, and while it might have been easy to rush back into the studio to capitalize on that momentum, that’s just not how we operate. Making albums or touring simply because it’s “good for business” holds no meaning for us. We create and perform when we are truly inspired. This is the very foundation of the special connection we share with you all, and it’s how we stay true to ourselves and to those who support our music.
It’s also important for you to know that we are all incredibly supportive of each other’s current projects within the fun. family. The fact that our small collective can generate so many diverse musical expressions, both together and individually, is something we deeply value.
As always, we promise to keep you updated on all things fun.!
With all our love,
Nate, Jack, and Andrew
