Trying to distill the essence of thousands of Christmas songs? Consider it done. This isn’t some scientific endeavor; it’s for folks like us who appreciate a good list, especially when it comes to holiday tunes. Let’s be upfront – this List Of Christmas Songs is purely subjective. It’s what resonates with me, and while I can’t claim these are objectively “the best,” I do believe they’re something special. You might ask, why are these tracks arguably better than a gem like Joe Turner’s “Christmas Date Boogie”? It’s a tough call, but in my book, they just edge it out.
However, my choices are far from arbitrary. I bring years of listening and a deep dive into holiday music to this compilation. I’ve aimed for diversity in artists and song titles. Yet, as anyone familiar with Hip Christmas knows, my heart beats for music that’s loud, fast, and undeniably catchy. So, despite my appreciation for genres like jazz, lounge, and reggae, you’ll find little of that here. For example, it was with considerable reluctance that I excluded classics from Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, and even The Carpenters, whom I adore. Despite these tough decisions, I’ve curated 100 songs that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking to rock, roll, boogie, swing, jump, and/or jive their way through the Christmas season.
