Another week, another avalanche of incredible New Country Songs hitting the airwaves! The country music scene is buzzing with record-breaking news and even more exciting new releases for fans to dive into. This week saw Morgan Wallen achieve a monumental 174th week at the top of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, surpassing Garth Brooks’ previous record. Adding to the excitement, Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ has dominated the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart for an astounding 35 weeks, setting a new record. And in a lighter note, Riley Green is keeping the holiday spirit alive (perhaps a little too long!) as he teased a snippet of his new ballad, ‘Make It Rain’, from a home still adorned with Christmas decorations. Two months, Riley? Maybe it’s time to pack those away!
But speaking of fresh drops, this week’s curated playlist is packed with must-hear new country songs from Charles Wesley Godwin, Kip Moore, Zach Top featuring Billy Strings, and many more rising and established artists. Tune into the Holler Best New Country playlist on Spotify, YouTube, Amazon, and Apple Music to stay on top of all the freshest sounds in country music.
This Week’s New Country Cover Star: Dasha
Dasha new country artist cover star
Our cover star this week shines brightly on the country-pop horizon: it’s the sensational Dasha! She’s back with her brand new single, ‘Not At This Party’, signaling the start of an eagerly anticipated new era in her music. Dasha aims to recapture the phenomenal success of her global viral hit, ‘Austin,’ which became one of the most-streamed country songs of 2024 and earned her the People’s Choice Country Award for Best Female Song.
‘Not At This Party’ is a high-energy, banjo-driven anthem perfect for anyone grappling with lingering thoughts of an ex while trying to enjoy a night out. If you find yourself constantly checking your phone for texts from a former flame or reminiscing about old times in the kitchen, Dasha’s new track is a direct call to get you back on the dance floor and leave those worries behind!
“’Not At This Party’ was a title that had been floating around in my mind for a while,” Dasha explains about her latest release. “It really taps into that universal feeling of being physically present with friends but mentally elsewhere. When I wrote it with Ashley Gorley and Ben Johnson, I was personally going through a situation with someone, and the song just poured out. We really worked to capture that blend of distraction and a little bit of guilt within the song’s vibe.”

Following their attention-grabbing debut single ‘This Morning,’ which offered a female perspective on the morning after a one-night stand, pop-country trio Just Jayne are back with ‘New Boots.’ This harmony-rich, emotionally resonant track also subtly promotes sustainable fashion.
“I don’t want new boots / They never fit quite right,” they sing in the catchy chorus. “Ain’t nothing like something familiar / Don’t wanna start again / Breaking new leather in / Time will do what it do / To tell you the truth / They just don’t make ‘em like you.” The song cleverly uses the metaphor of well-worn boots to express a longing for familiar comforts and relationships.
Michael Marcagi delivers a deeply personal new single, ‘Flyover State,’ where an upbeat mandolin rhythm contrasts with his emotionally charged vocal delivery. Lyrically, Marcagi explores feelings of being stuck in the daily grind, singing, “I look around, and this life ain’t mine,” and “I’m in the backseat watching the world pass me by / I’m stuck in a flyover state of mind.”
“‘Flyover State’ delves into the feeling of imposter syndrome and not quite belonging,” Marcagi elaborates. “It’s about embracing risk, venturing into new territories, and stepping beyond your comfort zone.” The song resonates with anyone feeling stagnant and yearning for change.
Ashley Anne’s new single draws on the age-old saying about leading a horse to water, tackling themes of unrequited effort in relationships. Inspired by a personal experience of offering unwavering support and second chances only to receive nothing in return, this melancholic ballad carries the classic countrypolitan stoicism reminiscent of legends like Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn.
“I offered nothing but love and support, yet received little in return,” Ashley Anne reflects on the single’s inspiration. “It’s a deeply painful experience to give your all and feel belittled for it. The song is about accepting that we can’t control others, only ourselves. Love with open hearts, but not blindly to your own detriment.”
This week also brings fresh tracks from Karissa Ella, Kashus Culpepper, Lily Rose, Gavin Adcock, and Kyle Clark, while Austin Snell unleashes ‘Heavy Metal,’ a powerful anthem about leaving heartbreak in the dust.
Lola Kirke has gifted fans with not one, but two new songs from her highly anticipated album Trailblazer, set for release on March 21st, both of which are featured on this week’s playlist.
Clay Walker gets sentimental with ‘Cowboys in Heaven,’ showcasing his softer side, and Trace Adkins poses the intriguing question, ‘What Color’s Your Wild.’ Adding to the diverse mix, Sydney Quiseng delivers a standout single.
“This song is about unwavering love through every phase of life,” Quiseng shares about ‘Phases.’ “Through highs, lows, even when you feel lost. My husband’s love is constant through all my phases, and this song is my tribute to him.”
Kassi Ashton teams up with Parker McCollum for ‘Sounds Like Something I’d Say,’ a soulful duet that explores the aftermath of a night of regrettable choices. This collaboration is from Kassi Ashton’s upcoming deluxe album Made From The Dirt: The Blooms, scheduled for release on April 25th.
“Parker is a dear friend, and I’m a huge admirer of his voice,” says Kassi Ashton. “The first time I heard him sing this song backstage at the Ryman, I knew immediately I had to record it and that he had to sing it with me.”
“Having Kassi on tour with me last year was amazing, she electrified the crowd every night,” Parker adds. “I was honored when she asked me to be on this track. It has all the hallmarks of those classic country duets I grew up listening to, and I was completely on board. I think we nailed this one.”
Made From The Dirt: The Blooms expands on the raw, soulful foundation of Kassi’s debut album with five brand-new tracks, offering fans even more of her distinctive sound.

It’s payday weekend, and the country music scene is delivering! Charles Wesley Godwin unveils his new 7-track project Lonely Mountain Town via Big Loud. This EP offers a more introspective and subdued listening experience compared to Family Ties, with songs primarily written on the road, capturing fleeting moments of everyday life.
“These are character-driven songs,” Godwin explains. “Most aren’t directly about my own experiences, but rather snapshots taken from my travels.”
This project also allowed Godwin to collaborate with admired musicians, including his cover of Jason Molina’s ‘Hammer Down,’ featuring one of his musical heroes, Scott Avett, and ERNEST, who joins him on ‘Dead to Rights.’
Writing with ERNEST provided Godwin with a valuable lesson in songwriting spontaneity.
“I learned that it’s okay to sometimes just sit down and try to write a song in ten minutes and see what happens, instead of agonizing over a single line for days,” he admits. Both of these collaborative tracks are included in today’s Best New Country playlist.
Kasey Tyndall, recognized as one of our 10 Artists You Need To Know last month, releases her self-titled album. This 11-track collection represents her most vulnerable songwriting to date, with each song revealing a different facet of her identity – from wife and mother to dynamic stage performer and outdoorsy southern woman.
“I’ve never felt more self-assured and clear about who I am today,” Kasey Tyndall states regarding her new album. “This authentic connection hasn’t fully come through in my previous releases, so with this album, I wanted to make it undeniably genuine. I’m grateful for all the experiences that have shaped me, making me stronger and better in every role I embrace. I’m excited for listeners to experience the full spectrum of life’s emotions alongside me through this release.”
Volume 2 of the Julia Belle: John Hartford Fiddle Tune Project is also out, featuring a star-studded lineup paying tribute to the legendary John Hartford.
The album includes contributions from Kathy Mattea, Alison Brown, Brittany Haas, Sierra Hull, Megan Lovell, Missy Raines, Rachel Baiman, Phoebe Hunt, Ginger Boatwright, Deanie Richardson, Allison de Groot, Della Mae, The Price Sisters, Uncle Earl, and many more. It’s a rich compilation of well-known John Hartford classics alongside newly discovered fiddle tunes, unearthed by his daughter, Katie Harford Hogue, while archiving his belongings.
Further album releases this week include new projects from Racyne Parker, JD Clayton, Sean McConnell, Echolalia, The Devil Makes Three, and Brett Kissel. Additionally, Redferrin drops his 7-track project Some City, Somewhere.
Kip Moore unveils his highly anticipated sixth studio album, Solitary Tracks, his most expansive and ambitious work to date, featuring 23 songs across four sides. This sprawling collection ranges from the rockabilly-infused country of ‘Around You’ to the raw Americana of the title track and the soulful ‘Pretty Horses.’ Solitary Tracks is a career-defining achievement, exploring themes of life, love, and the redemptive power of human connection with remarkable depth and breadth.
“There’s no set formula, and sometimes you have to bet on yourself,” Moore stated. “You have to be brave enough to trust your instincts and take risks if you truly believe in something. I’ll never compromise by writing what I think people want to hear or clinging to a sound that once worked for me. I need to constantly evolve and follow my creative path, or it becomes inauthentic. I’ll always stay true to myself with every record, and my only hope is that people find some comfort in my music. This project is a journey in itself, and I hope it helps listeners navigate their own lives.”
Spotlight New Country Song of the Week

Each week, Holler shines a spotlight on a new country song deserving of extra attention, and this week, the honor goes to ‘Young Girl,’ the latest release from Brooklyn-based indie Americana singer-songwriter Ava McCoy.
‘Young Girl,’ released via Acrophase Records alongside a visually stunning music video filmed in the Oregon countryside, is a standout track.
“‘Young Girl’ is a heartfelt ode to my younger self and the dreams she held,” McCoy explains. “My creative journey has taken many forms, and this song brings together all those past versions of myself. It’s a reflection on mistakes, breakthroughs, disappointments, and the foundational music memories of my childhood.”
Recorded in Nashville with producer Josef Kuhn, ‘Young Girl’ is a tender, gently strummed reflection on youth and early adulthood. It’s perfect for fans of indie country, offering, in McCoy’s words, “a reminder of the strength and pain of being young.”
“Jos and I recorded ‘Young Girl’ at his home studio in East Nashville,” McCoy recounts. “I spent a month there in 2023 working on my upcoming album, and this song was one of the most enjoyable to create. We co-wrote the bridge and really embraced the authentic Americana feel that the song naturally evoked. The video was a collaboration with my boyfriend, Aidan, during a trip to Oregon, visiting a former dude ranch where I spent many summers growing up. We felt the landscape spoke volumes and showcased a bicoastal aspect of my upbringing that I don’t often share. I even had COVID during the shoot, so we filmed everything outdoors, away from crowds, and the horses truly stole the show. I convinced Aidan to wake up at 6 am, and we biked to the meadow where the horses are released each morning – the mist we captured is one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever witnessed. The video is a time capsule of a place and time I cherish, revealing me in my most genuine state.”
