Ice Spice New Song Preview: Rapper Teases Tracks From ‘Y2K!’ Album

Ice Spice is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated debut album, Y2K!, and she’s giving fans a taste of what’s to come. The Bronx-born sensation recently shared a video snippet of an unreleased track on social media, sending the internet into a frenzy. The caption, “phattt buttttttttt,” accompanied the preview, which features Ice Spice rapping confident bars aimed at her competitors, making it clear she’s not here to play games.

In the brief clip, Ice Spice delivers a potent message to those trying to imitate her style: “Got these b—s copying my pose/ Got these b—s biting all my flows/ Like ballerinas, keep ’em on their toes/ And I really write, like f—k a ghost.” This assertive verse not only showcases her signature flow but also emphasizes her songwriting prowess, dismissing any notion of ghostwriters.

Ice Spice, recognized as a leading figure in the current wave of female rappers, recently made significant announcements regarding her Y2K! project. These include the album’s official artwork, release date, and the exciting news of a world tour. However, the album cover art, created by David LaChapelle, faced some initial criticism online. Ice Spice responded to fan reactions, including one who created an alternate cover, with a lighthearted “delulu” comment, showcasing her engagement with her fanbase.

So far, Ice Spice has dropped two official singles from Y2K!: “U Think U the Shit? (Fart)” and “Gimmie a Light.” “U Think U the Shit? (Fart)” made a notable impact on the charts, peaking at No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100, further solidifying her mainstream appeal. She also recently collaborated with Cash Cobain and Bay Swag on the “Fisherrr (Remix),” contributing to the vibrant “Sexy Drill” scene emerging from New York City.

Y2K! marks Ice Spice’s first full-length project since her breakthrough EP, Like..?, released in 2023. Like..? was a pivotal moment in her career, reaching No. 15 on the charts and catapulting her to superstardom. Fans are eagerly awaiting more details about the newly teased track, including its official title and release date. Y2K! is officially set to launch on July 26th, with her world tour commencing on July 4th in Denmark.
